I am a little worried about what Liberty will say to some of these questions. She was tagged by Emma and she is way excited to tag someone else. Here it goes...

when I do my jobs

cleaning up the house! (She nailed that on the head. It's not my favorite thing to do!!)

Telling me funny jokes & making silly faces

she liked to play with her dollies, she had lots of dollies.

35 (she's only a month off!)

7. How tall is your mom?
50 Feet.

Go to girls camp. (If she only knew!!!)

Hang out and go shopping.

being a dancer or being a pro dentist or singing too (Hilarious!!!)

making brownies & ramen noodles.

Golf

wear an apron and teach cooking

when she loads the dishwasher for us

Go shopping when we have girls night out & watch movies.

Our hair and our eyes!

Our faces. The eyebrows are different.

Lots of kisses. She makes me dinner.

when he buys her stuff.

Okay after getting these answers I have found that I need to spend much more quality time with my daughter! She cracks me up. I wonder what she thinks of me...on a day to day basis. Fun Stuff!

Another First Day of School!

The big First Grader!!!

Okay, so I have been reading many blogs that are right on top of things and have already blogged about the first day...well, this mom isn't quite as on top of it as others. What can I say? I wasn't excited for school to start it creeped up on us way to quickly. So really I am in sort of denial that it has begun. Last Friday when Caleb went I struggled, and then on Monday when he didn't have to go and the others did it didn't seem real. I can't really explain it. But we started our new morning schedule promptly at 6:30 am (a little earlier for me, I have to have a head start!) We all got up and had a great morning. Right up until the last minute I was feeling not prepared to go to school and start teaching 420 children for the upcoming months. So bad, I had big plans of spending time this summer getting a bunch of stuff ready and that just didn't happen. There was no time!!! But it came time to leave and the day came and went very uneventful...when Zach came home I asked him how it was and his comment was, "Okay, not that different." Liberty had a good day and she did great. I didn't get to see her much at all but she had fun. Here are the kids just before we left. The start of school is a bitter sweet thing. My children really enjoy going to school, that isn't the problem, it is me who realizes that each year seems to be going by so fast and that is what kills me. Check out these cute kids....

One Emotional Mom!

Okay so as I sit here at my computer I have tears running down my face. I had to hold this all together for some time but finally I have let them fall. See, today was Caleb's first day of Junior High. He is a 7th Grader!!! I can't believe it...as I drove to take him to school this morning all I could think about was his first big day of Kindergarten. (Which seems like just yesterday!!) And just like today he was excited, nervous, anxious, and ready to go.

Yesterday went to the "Meet The Teacher" day with him. As I walked around the Jr. High all I kept thinking was how much I loved my 7th-9th grade years. I kept praying that Caleb would have the same experience as I had. As we walked I soon realized that my child knows a ton of kids. It was "Hey Veenk", or "Hi Veenkie", and "Veenker" coming from many voices around the halls. One thought I had was why did we ever need to give him a first name! NO ONE calls him Caleb. Well except his family! Craig told me to get used to it, because it was the same for him. Another thought I had was that of happiness, as we walked around the school and worked on opening his locker, I had such a good feeling of who my son has become. He is a good boy, and has become more mature in the last little while and I admire that about him. He is a great example. He has to work hard in school, it isn't something that comes easily for him but he takes on the challenge and does it with pride. Yesterday I begged him to let me take photos of him but he flatly refused. I didn't want to cause any embarassement so I gave in.

Today, I had to sneak a few as he walked into the school. As I sat in the car watching him walk in so big, so strong, so "grown-up", so ready, I sat and had a mix of emotions run through my mind. My little boy is growing up. Someone told me that the jr high and high school years fly by! So I guess we're in for a wild and hopefully fun and fulfilling ride. Way to go Caleb. Keep being the same great boy you always have been. I am so blessed to have such a great 7th Grader! Keep up the great work! I love you, Caleb!

I am sorry but how can a mom not start to cry while watching this. He looked back a time or two I think just to make sure I wasn't take photos. But I got some. Not to worry!

One last shot before he walked into the school. I hope his time at Jr. High is one he will always remember as a great time!

Just a side note:

Wow, if I am like this today, what will Monday be like when the other two start school. In our district they have the 7th graders come a day early to get the hang of things. I love that idea! Zach and Liberty start on Monday.

I love these quizzes! I think it is hilarious to see how the results come in. Only partially true most of the time. Just fun stuff!

Old Texas

Check out these children...who is there Mother?

So one afternoon, I heard the kids bustling around looking for things and then I heard the front door slam and then silence. After a few moments of silence (that I secretly needed at the time) I looked outside to notice that the kids were playing in the tree. I love watching them when they all play together and they love our trees. We have two great big trees on the side of our lot. They are great! I wandered out to chat with them as they played. I was told they were climbing "OLD TEXAS". I was confussed! I asked what that meant, little did I know that they have named the trees. So me being the noisy one, I asked "if this one is Old Texas...what is that trees name? (Pointing to the other tree). Quickly all of them answered "Oh, that's NEVADA." I couldn't help but laugh, I don't know how long our trees have had names, but it cracks me up! Then I noticed what each child was wearing, climbing gear in there eyes (I guess) the more laughing came. I ran inside to get the camera this was one I couldn't miss. Check out the duds on these kids...where is their mother?
This happened in the afternoon, and I don't think that a brush had even come close to Liberty's hair, Zach's old soccer shorts and the pink shirt, you know that would be my first choice. Of course the sneakers or as she called them her climbing shoes. Once again, don't forget the shades!

Caleb has on Craig's shorts which are a bit on the large side, I don't have a clue what the piece of PVC pipe has to do with the outfit, but really you gotta have shades!

I think it is so funny that Zach is wearing all black including his baseball socks and Caleb's black shorts that are extra long on him and please take note of the black church belt around the waist. Don't ask, I still cannot figure it out. Oh, and don't forget the shades. That totally completes the outfit!


They played outside long after I went inside the house. I got a great laugh off of this one. Even now when I drive up to the house and catch a glimpse of the trees I laugh and think of the names.

Seven Peaks & Kung Fu Panda

Here we are just about to go into the movie!

While looking at the calendar a few days ago, I realized that the summer is all but over and I was feeling the need to do something fun with the family. After work one evening we went out to see Kung Fu Panda. We all love going to the movies, as long as there is popcorn involved! (one bag has to have the yummy fake butter and alot of it, and one bag has to be plain and don't mess it up! OR ELSE!!!) We loved the movie, there were parts that I thought Zach was going to fall off his chair, he was laughing so hard.

The next morning which happened to be the 24th of July, Pioneer Day, which is a holiday for Craig we packed up early and headed out to 7 Peaks. We made sure we were there early so we could get a shady spot to lounge. We ended up waiting in line to get in and yep, we got our shady spot! That made for a much better day! It was hot and the fam just needed a little bit of outdoor water fun. We played in the Lazy River and went down the slides.

These photos were taken of the boys coming down the very first slide they went on. Zach was a bit timid as you can tell, Caleb came down so fast I wasn't ready so just got him in the pool, and Craig somehow lost his glasses after falling into the pool. He has them on in the photos but when he came up he didn't and we never found them. Strange.

Here is Liberty enjoying the children's area. This girl could have played in here for hours.

So much fun, but with the fun comes the pain, even with applying sunscreen, the kids got sunburned. They burn so easily that it is crazy. After getting home and applying our Milk of Magnesium (our secret remedy for sunburns) this is what the kids looked like! Sore Red Backs! They were moving kind of slow from this one.

Everyone had a great time, and at least we did something. This summer has been SO BUSY! Just like always but I can't beleive how fast it has flown by. So sad!
