who would have thought?

it has been over a week since i last had time to post but what a week it has been. craig's little brother scott got his mission call in november 2007 to argentina, cordoba mission. last sunday was his farewell talk, and he did an amazing job. the entire meeting was great. we had a nice time visiting craig's home ward and after church visiting with many family members. we had a great time giving advice and showing our appreciation to scott. many tears were shed and lots of laughter was shared. it was a great day. after being home for a few hours i got a phone call from dad (because he knows we don't have tv) letting us know that PRESIDENT HINCKLEY had passed away. i ran and told craig and then went into our family room where the boys were hanging out and told them. this is the part that totally amazed me, both caleb and zach started to cry. not just a few tears falling down their cheeks, no, i am talking full on weeping & sobbing. i was taken off guard, i knew they would have fond thoughts of president hinckley but never in a million years would i have thought this would be the reaction. we sat and talked for quite a while about how great the reunion for president hinckley must have been. i had to stop and think about their reaction and realized this is the ony prophet they had known, and what a man he was. craig and i have tried to mention president hinckley often in our home we have photos of him and i really think that all the children grew to love him dearly. as we all did. we ended up listening to ksl radio for about 2.5 hours after the first news of his death. caleb woke up early and turned it back on. it was like they couldn't get enough of his life story. they truly admired this wonderful man. although i was shocked to see their reaction i don't know that i could have imagined it being any different. they loved him.

over the past few days i have been completely loved listening to every tribute to our wonderful prophet, i wanted to add a few that i thought were really touching. here they are...

Prophetic Passing

I imagine he's running to Marjorie now,

Yes, running, not waving his cane.

I see him embracing his father and mother

While they keep repeating his name.

I see him now meeting his fore bearers,

Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.

Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service

That only such noble men share.

I see him embraced by the Savior

While Father says, "Good and well done.

So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome

My noble, most excellent son."

I then hear the ripples of laughter

As he says the reception's just fine,

But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two

Since there's no need to waste any time.

I can hear his clear voice in the stillness

At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,

Have faith and move forward - there's work to be done.

President Hinckley would want it that way.

all in a day

last night i thought to myself, what am i going to do tomorrow. well the list began to form.

  • take down christmas decorations (which i don't like to do because of how plain my house looks afterwards!)

  • finish painting front room

  • laundry, laundry, laundry

  • clean out toy room

  • make di run

  • make bread

  • start to research things for summer in the village

  • clean house

i could go on but the list quickly became completely overwhelming as usual. after waking up to a dramatic and tired zach, the day was off to a crazy start. zach is so funny, he is my homebody and doesn't see why he should have to go to a primary activity, then there is craig, my absolute, there was not question of whether or not zach would go. thus the battle began. in the end zach went to the activity and when he returned he was called into craig's office to find a task waiting for him. zach had to write "I will not talk back to mom and dad, ever" 20 times. to zach this was way worse than any time out, or being grounded, but it worked! what a genious my hubby is. he has been an angel all day long. that was a great punishment for zach. not that i love to come up with punishments but hey kids will be kids and that was exactly what zach needed.
needless to say i sit here at my computer at 5:30 pm and only 3 things on the list got done but hey, i finally finished painting the front room (after 3 months) and the christmas decorations are down and now i have to figure out what to replace them with. blank walls are not to my likeing!

all in a day, and the day isn't even over! Life is great!

a few fun photos

just wanted to post some cute photos of our family... check them out!

look at this cute kid! i tried all football season to capture him in his game mode...this was the best i could get. he loves the game! and looks so cute in the uniform! what a stud!

just look at how cute this guy is, my zach! love him to pieces! this was a while ago when he had no front teeth. always love that look!

so here it goes...

okay i must say that i have been trying to get this started for about a week now and everytime i get into it i have to quit and run somewhere and then forget to save it...so here it goes. i must say that i am fully aware that i am way behind the times and honestly not proud of that fact but this is my year to start my blog.

my life is wonderful...i am the first to admit that i have my days when i don't feel that is the case but when i take the time to think of all that i have been blessed with i will always come to that conclusion. i am blessed!!!!

i have an amazing husband, CRAIG! we just celebrated our 13 year anniversary, i can't believe it has been that long but also can't remember life without him. he is a wonderful provider for me and our family. he loves us and we love him. he is the greatest example to the children, they look up to him so much as do i. what a great guy!

we have 3 incredible children who definately keep us on our toes. we have CALEB who is 11.5 who is a total stud! he is a responsible, loving, helpful young man. it has been strange to watch how much he has grown in the last year. he is a young man and is setting a wonderful example for his younger brother and sister. what a personality. the boy is so fun to be around and has a great sense of humor. he loves football, baseball, xbox and his electric motorcycle.

second is ZACH who is 7.5 and again a stud in the making! he is an absolute crack up! he has a talent of remembering lines from movies and he knows exactly when to use them in conversation. he is following in his brothers footsteps with a love of football, baseball, xbox (although he likes different games) and his electric motorcycle. it is amazing how similar the two boys are. zach is our tenderheart...he loves babies and loves to help when it is convienient for him!!! we love our zach!

last but not least is our LIBERTY who is 4.5, when she was born we said she would bring balance to the force in our home. and that she has...she is in many ways completely different from the boys with a love for princesses, dolls, makeup, and anything girly, but don't you be fooled she can hold her own! she is usually in on the wrestling matches and tries to play football with the boys (sometimes they don't really like that). she is taking gymnastics, and is 4.5 going on 13 well maybe 17! she is my little shadow, and most of the time i love it, you know what i mean.

our family is great, we all get along and we enjoy being together. don't be mistaken, we have our moments when we all need to be put in our own corners but hey, what family doesn't, right? keep checking for our updates, somedays are just ordinary but hey others are extraordinary and those are the ones we all look foward to and we want to share them with everyone!
