Caleb's Birthday

This kid turned 14! It is hard for me to believe...I don't feel old until I notice how big and grown up my children are becoming! He didn't want cake, instead he asked for Oreo pie. It was pretty tasty!
His birthday landed on Sunday this year, and it was a great experience to be able to advance in the Priesthood on his big day.

Caleb is such a good kid. He is a huge help to his parents, a great friend to his siblings, and he is a crack up! I love to be around him. I love this young man (I can't really call him a boy anymore) so much. He has many great things ahead of him, lots of exciting times in the next few years.
Happy Birthday Caleb!

CRAZY BUSY!

Oh man, I have so much to post about...too bad life is CRAZY BUSY these days! Hopefully, I will get to post soon!

Sadly, blogging isn't the only thing I am behind on. The pile of laundry is OUT OF CONTROL! The housework is backed up, my list is long and hope it will soon shrink!

See you soon!

Crazy Hair Day!

Last Friday was crazy hair day at Grovecrest. Both Lib and Zach got into this time. Libby wanted piggy tails all over her head, and Zach, well he said "just give me a few". I ended up driving them to school because we were running late, I had to laugh when they got out of the car to walk onto the playground they were both really embarassed and nervous that they had gotten mixed up and it wasn't crazy hair day. They both came home crazy hair in tact...and got a great laugh from some of the other hair-do's they saw. Gotta love Elementary School!
A side view of both.

Quick Shot

While taking the big family photo on Saturday I snapped the photo above. I thought it turned out cute. I just feel very thankful to have such a wonderful family, we have our crazy days and moods but all and all we are a happy family who enjoys being together and laughing! I feel lucky to have that, I know that isn't always the case. I love each one of these darling kiddos so much and oh of course, I could never forget my cute hubby! I LOVE YOU ALL!

Peterson Family Easter

We had our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Mom & Dad's house yesterday. As always it was really fun! The food was delicious as usual...and just being able to spend time as a family was the best part of all. This year Dad wanted us to have a photo taken, due to the fact that Jake will be heading out on his mission in the next few months, and from that time for the next like 6 years we will have at least one missionary out in the family. Which is hard for me to believe that the grandkids are growing up so fast. So we met at the church and it was a struggle to get everyone sitting still, looking at the right spot, you know, the typical famiy photo situations...but with 32 people it was extra difficult. Hopefully we will have at least one work out. We shall see.

A quick snap...don't ask me what Caleb is doing.
Craig snapped this one of the immediate family before the photographer took his.
The hunt was a highlight of the afternoon...what was different this year was the grandkids about 12 and up chose not to participate, instead to hide the eggs. WOW! The numbers were small for the actual hunt but it was still as fun as ever. Brit wasn't quite sure what he was supposed to do, so I had to help him along. Zach ended up with over 16 dollars and Liberty had 14 dollars and Brit had about 9 dollars, along with a bunch of candy for all. Brits favorite thing of the day was sitting in the big basket of empty Easter eggs...he played in them for quite a while.

Brit found something interesting along the fence...he didn't care too much for the eggs.

Brit's eggs

The best part of the afternoon for this little guy!

Once again, it was a great day spent with family, enjoy each other's company and laughter. Thanks for a great day Mom & Dad!

Stick A Fork In It!

Yesterday while eating lunch I was using a fork and Brit kept trying to grab it so I got him his own. I didn't think he would use it, mostly just play with it. Well, after a ton of concentration he actually stuck a pear with his fork and knew just what do with it. He was pretty proud of himself. I thought to myself, he can't be growing up this fast. Not that using utensils is some sort of huge milestone, but he needs to stay my baby a little longer! But he was proud as punch showing his Dad and older brothers and sister at dinner! He thought he as HOT STUFF! I am sure it helped that everytime he successfully got something on the fork and into his mouth we all cheered him on! Yes, we are that smittened by this little guy!

Hard at work trying to stab the pear.
After succeeding, sort of hard to get it right into his mouth....

It took a few times...

But he finally got the hang of it!

Okay, now that you have read this you may think I am stretching for things to blog about ... in all honesty, I am struggling with the thought of him growing up so fast, that I sometimes find myself just sitting and watching him figure things out. This is one of those moments, that I just happened to capture on film. Crazy I know!
